Hi, i'm travelling to Taiwan in Apr and would like to find out valuable information on MinSu. By the way, how will the temperature be like, during April?

firstly, which area has nice MinSu outside of Taipei & convenient to travel from Taipei?

secondly, i'm looking for MinSu which have themes/nice decorations/nice scenary, and most importantly safe.

Please advice! Thanks..

Dear Zheyan

It's not very easy to find a Minsu in Taipei City. Most of the privately-owned bedrooms and apartments can be rent on a daily basis(日租套房), but they do not take care of your breakfast or other services most B&B may offer.   If you're tight on the budget, you may want to have a look of the Taipei International Youth Hostel (http://www.taipeiyh.com/). If you don't mind travelling a bit and taking care of yourself, I'd suggest that you can may consider 日租套房 near Tanshui, where you can enjoy a view as well. You may check this website for more information: http://danshuei.okgo.tw/

Hope you find this helpful. Enjoy your stay in Taiwan:)

Thanks Mrs Woodpecker!

actually i'm looking for MinSu that are beside the Sea or Mountain, and also nicely decorated. I've been to Taipei, but i don't know anything about the areas outside of Taipei (e.g Yilan, Hualien, etc) and not in City area. So I do not know which area outside of Taipei has nice MinSu.

By the way, what is the temperature like during beginning April? is it less than 20 degrees?

Dear Zheyan

If you have been in Taipei before, why not explore the other lovely towns in Taiwan? There are lots nice minsu in Hualien and Yilan. You just have to look for them on the internet! It’s very easy to travel from Taipei to the east by train. If you can drive, you can also consider renting a car and a good navigation system. Then you’re ready to explore other places outside of Taipei! I once met a German guy who traveled to some remote and unspoiled places even I Taiwanese had never heard of. He said it’s quite easy if you have a GPS so I reckon you may be able to do that as well.

In April, it’s around 20 degree or warmer. Hope that this is helpful and you will see the country side of Taiwan in the coming spring!

Yours truly,

Hi,
How to go to Kenting from taipei? Is it convenient and the duration for this journey?

Dear Tigeress

The most comfortable way to travel from Taipei to Kenting is by Taiwan High Speed Trail (HSR). From Taipei to Kaohsiung, it will take around 1.5 hr. From Kaohsiung Station, there is direct bus service going to Kenting, which takes about 2 hrs. This is the fastest and easiest way. If you want to save some money and go by coach, you can, but the total travelling hours will be around at least 8 hours.
Hope you find this helpful. Enjoy your stay in Taiwan :)
